Earnings release monitoring

Real-time alerts on IR-page earnings releases and 8-K filings for every ticker you track. Five-minute polling during earnings season, hourly otherwise.

During earnings season, the gap between the release posting and the first analyst note can be 30 seconds. Equity research teams, IR teams (watching peers), and active traders need real-time signal on every earnings drop. WebMonitor.fyi monitors each company's IR press release page and SEC EDGAR 8-K page in parallel — whichever publishes first triggers the alert.

How to set it up

1

List the tickers

Most users track 15–40 tickers — a focus sector plus peers plus a few benchmarks.

2

Add two monitors per ticker

IR-page press releases (catches the actual earnings release first about 60% of the time) and EDGAR 8-K page (catches it first the other 40%). Cross-coverage means no misses.

3

Bump frequency during earnings windows

Hourly for most of the year. Five-minute checks during earnings windows. The dashboard lets you batch-edit frequency.

4

Webhook into Slack or Bloomberg-style chat

The release lands in the chat with a link. The team sees it before competitors finish refreshing.

Who uses this

  • Equity research analysts covering a sector of 25–40 names
  • IR teams monitoring peer earnings releases for competitive context
  • Hedge fund operators with concentrated positions tracking quarterly results
  • Portfolio managers running event-driven strategies around earnings
  • Journalists covering specific sectors on a tight publishing window

Honest limits

IR-page monitoring catches whatever the IR team publishes publicly. Pre-market and after-hours-only releases sometimes go to wire services (PR Newswire, Business Wire) before the IR page; monitoring the wire-service company-page can supplement.

Frequently asked questions

How fast is the alert from publication?

On a five-minute interval, the alert arrives within five minutes of the release posting. For sub-five-minute latency, the company's wire-service page often publishes first.

Can I track guidance updates outside earnings season?

Yes. Off-cycle 8-Ks frequently contain guidance revisions and material disclosures. The same monitors catch them year-round.

Does this work for international companies?

For ADRs filing with the SEC, yes. For purely foreign-listed companies, monitor their IR page directly — works the same way.
